Tooth Fairy Pillows!!

I finished these 2 cuties up today!  My daughter, Miss K. had to help.  She loves stuffing things.  The girly one is a Tooth Fairy Princess and the boy one is a Tooth Fairy Police Man.  These were super cheap and super fun to make.  Next time I’ll look for thicker felt though because mine was sort of see through.  The mouths on these puppies are a pocket to put the tooth in when they fall out.  The part I like most is these hang on a doorknob so the Tooth Fairy doesn’t need to go digging under pillows in our house again!!!  MMMcrafts has the excellent tutorial on how to make these.  Love her site!

As you can see, Miss K. LOVES hers.

And another positive note today; one of my fabric orders arrived!  I can’t wait to start some more projects.  My mom is gone from her house so I think I’ll go hunt down her serger…. 🙂

And I even was able to make time to enjoy the beautiful snow with Miss K. today; we built a cute fort and used food coloring to “paint” it.  It was a good day.

Stuffed Animals Everywhere!!!

I’ve come to realize that I will forever be surrounded by mounds of stuffed animals until my kids grow old enough to move out.  I honestly think they multiply like rabbits while we sleep!  I’ve grown tired of having them all over the house, their rooms, their beds, the car and so I thought I would buy an animal net like the kind I used to have.  No luck.  I couldn’t find one anywhere.  Late one night I stumbled across this amazing blog and she had listed a stuffed animal net tutorial!  YAY!  I was thrilled and excited to make it…. until I started working with the worst jersey knit fabric of my life!  It was hard to cut straight and hard to keep from rolling; we ran out of bias tape and the husband had to scour Wal-Mart late at night to find more.  (I actually smile at that because I can see him cluelessly looking all over!)  The actual net is really not to hard to make once you get going and my daughter is thrilled.  If you are interested in making one of your own I suggest using the tutorial provided by A Lemon Squeezy Home.  She rocks!

Owls! I love owls!!

I have a nasty habit of getting sucked into blog surfing in the middle of the night.  After I get my five-year old off to sleep and my nine-year old tucked in I sit in bed on my laptop and become absorbed into different blogs.  I get lost in the most amazing places and I find lots of fun things to do and try.  My husband keeps telling me I have “too many irons in the fire.”  LOL.  Well on one of my late night rampages I found this adorable blog with these insanely cute owls to make!!! I am a HUGE fan of cute little owls so I thought I would try them out.

I picked up the fabric and came home to complete it.  Well I then got sidetracked for about a week and eventually came back to it.  I printed out the pattern and got to work.  It actually wasn’t too hard to do!  I enlisted the help of my five-year old to stuff the owl; it is now her pet.  She hijacked it!  She has named it after her best friend and takes the thing everywhere!!!  I think it is the cutest owl ever.

Thanks to Hammer and Thread for the super cute tutorial and pictures.  If you want to do an owl of your own head over to Hammer and Thread for the info.

And here is Serena the Owl!
